Pregnancy represents a significant opportunity for natural health practitioners to assist in maintaining the health of both the mother and developing foetus during such an important life stage. In this webinar, Angela will present a complex pregnancy care case of a 42 year old single woman who conceived via IVF with donor sperm. She had gone to great lengths to conceive her child and thought the biggest hurdle was overcome when she got the positive pregnancy news. Unfortunately, she was wrong. At 7 weeks she presented with severe nausea; at 9 weeks bleeding commenced; at 16 weeks the baby was failing to thrive; at 26 weeks her blood pressure escalated putting her into a high risk category for pre-eclampsia; and at 28 weeks she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. This patient was facing the possibility of a severely premature baby. Although her pregnancy was complicated from start to finish, she was committed to naturopathic co-management to give herself and her baby the very best chance of wellbeing throughout.
