Psychobiotics are probiotics which have a proven beneficial effect on psychological wellbeing and mental health. Emerging evidence indicates that these beneficial bacteria exert their effects via the enteric nervous system, causing emotional, cognitive, systemic, and neural improvements in patients. Psychobiotics also work via strengthening gut barrier integrity, influencing the stress response system, inhibiting mast cell activation, decreasing inflammation, and reducing the systemic lipopolysaccharide burden.

In this webinar our speaker, Roberta Barbiellini, will explore the latest science on psychobiotics, and look at how they can be used to help improve the function and integrity of the gut barrier and the blood-brain barrier. These exciting new scientific discoveries are of particular importance to practitioners who treat patients with compromised digestive function, mood disorders, migraines, autism spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, and/or cognitive dysfunction. Roberta will review how psychobiotics can be of benefit in these conditions, and share practical strategies that you can use to effect real change in your patients.
